Trace and cut out turtle body and shell
patterns
Measure out two “I” balls of Brown Hearty clay. Roll
into one ball and place onto the roller boards. Use the 1/16” rails to
roll out the clay and make it at least 3” x 3” to fit the pattern. Place
the pattern for the turtle body onto the clay. Use the knife tool to cut
out the piece from the clay. Smooth the edges of the clay. Set aside.
Measure out an “I” ball of Green Hearty clay. Rollout
on the roller board using the 1/16” rails, make sure it is at least 3” x
3” to fit the pattern. Place the shell pattern on the clay and cut out
with the knife tool. Don’t forget to cut out the inside areas. Smooth
edges of the clay.
Place the green shell onto the body. Use the knife
tool to cut out the brown clay from the inside of the shell. Smooth out
the clay on all of the edges. Let dry.
You can add a pin back, magnet or glue your turtle to
a scrapbook page or handmade card.
