Optional: Embossing heat gun tool
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare the shrink art plastic by scuffing one side only with
the sandpaper. Wipe off the dust with a paper towel.
Trace the candy corn pattern on the scuffed side with the
Sharpie, or any black marker, making sure your marked line is at
least 1/8" thick. With the colored pencils, color on the scuffed
side of the shrink plastic inside of the thick line you just
traced, dividing the candy corn into 3 even
sections (see diagram).
Carefully cut out the design from the shrink plastic around the
black border of the candy corn
pattern.
Shrink the plastic following the manufacturer's directions. You
can place the piece in an oven or use the embossing heat gun
tool. If using the heat gun tool, use a skewer or chopstick to
help hold the piece down while shrinking.
After you shrink your piece, you can decorate your pin. Cover
the shiny side of the shrunken
plastic with the beads one colored section at a time...
White section (top):
Apply the Tacky Tape over the white section. Cut off the excess
tape. Peel off the adhesive
backing (red). Cover the tacky section with the Crystal Pearl
Treasure Beadz. Press the beads into the adhesive. Cover the
same area with the Silver Micro Beadz to fill in the spaces in
between the Treasure Beadz.
Orange section (middle):
Apply the Tacky Tape over the orange section. Cut off the excess
tape. Peel off the adhesive backing. Place the eyes on the tacky
section. Cover the rest of the secion with the Blazing Orange
Treasure Beadz. Press the beads into the adhesive.
Yellow section (bottom):
Apply the Tacky Tape over the yellow section. Cut off the excess
tape. Peel off the adhesive
backing . Cut a 1.5" piece of the black wire with the wire
cutters. Take the round nose pliers and curl each end of the
wire into the small sprals and shape the wire into a smiling
mouth. Place the mouth on the tacky section. Cover the rest of
the section with the Golden Yellow Treasure Beadz. Press the
beads into the adhesive. Cover the orange and yellow sections
with the Gold Micro Beadz to fill in the spaces in between the
Treasure Beadz.
Optional: Take the heat gun tool and briefly heat the beads on
the plastic. This will create a stronger bond for the tacky tape
and beads.
Glue the pinback with E6000 on the dull, unfinished side.
