Directions
Step 1:
To start, leave a 4” to 5” tail of yarn and
chain 10. Make 3 double crochet in the third chain from the hook. Make 1
double crochet in each of the next 5 chains. Make 7 double crochet in
the next chain (while turning it around to the opposite side). Make 1
double crochet in each of the next 5 double crochet. Make 3 double
crochet in the next stitch. Slip stitch to the top of the chain 3 to
join – do not cut the yarn. Go to Step 2.
Step 2:
Chain 50 and then start on the next slippah.
Make 3 double crochet in the third chain form the hook. Make 1 double
crochet in each of the next 5 chains. Make 3 double crochet in the next
stitch. Slip stitch in the third chain of the 50 chain. Next, start on
the opposite side. Make 3 double crochet in the same place as the
previous 3 double crochet stitches (the third chain counts as one double
crochet, so you’ll have to make 7 double crochet). Make 1 double crochet
in each of the next 5 double crochet. Make 3 double crochet in the next
stitch. Slip stitch to the top of the next double crochet. Leave a 4” to
5” tail of yarn. Go to step 3 to make the strap.
Step 3:
Only the tops of the slippahs are complete;
the straps need to be attached before the bottoms can be made. Using
your second yarn color for the straps, start by leaving a 2” to 3” tail
and make chain 7. Holding the slippahs so that they face you, slip
stitch in the center (around the top part of the double crochet, just
under the chain 50) Chain 7. Leave a 2” to 3” tail to end. Poke each end
on the sides of the slippahs. Tie the ends together on the underside of
the slippahs. Go to step 4 to complete the bottom of the slippahs.
Step 4:
Repeat step and do not end off. Pick up the
last completed slippah top (tail on bottom tip) With the wrong sides
together and the beginning at the bottom of the chain 50 (top of slippah),
slip stitch both sides together, while tucking in the tails. Repeat step
2 but do not end off. Pick up the previously completed top and this time
start slip stitching together at the bottom of the slippah while tucking
in the ends. Before ending off, tuck in the last tail.
