Directions:
NOTE: If making your
star pin out of one solid color, follow the beading steps and disregard
the bead color changes.
Take the 12” of wire
and 1 ½” from one end, bend slightly to keep the beads from sliding off
when making the star.
String beads in the
following fashion:
String one Red bead
and then one Clear bead onto the wire. Bend the wire slightly and add
the Blue bead. Bend the wire slightly so that the Blue bead will be on
the tip of the point. Add one Clear Bead and one Red bead. That
completes the first point.
Bend the wire
slightly to form the beginning of the next point. Add one Red bead and
one Clear bead. Bend the wire
slightly and add the
Blue bead. Bend the wire slightly so that the Blue bead sits at the tip
of the point. Add a Clear
bead and one Red
bead. Another point of the star has been completed.
Continue adding the
beads and bending the wire in this pattern to make the remaining three
points.
After adding the last
Clear and Red beads to complete the last point, make sure that the beads
are on nicely and
there are no gaps in
the wire. Take the two ends of the wire and twist together to join the
star points.
Take a thin dowel or
paintbrush handle and coil the ends of the wire around. Stretch the coil
slightly to make it look like streamers. Turn the start over and glue
the pin back onto the beads at one point.
